Why is my Massey Ferguson hydraulic lift not working?

Why is my Massey Ferguson hydraulic lift not working?

After a while once work progresses the temparature of the hydraulic oil rises & as is the nature of oil the viscosity drops, IE becomes thinner. If the proformance of the lift weakens this is a symptom of wear. The hydraulics should perform as well at idling speed or at higher rev’s. Hydraulics will not lift

Why does my MF 35 tractor not lift?

I have an mf 35 and just recently the lift will pick up and work for about 45 mi’s then it goes down and won’t work again until it cools off. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Why are the lift arms on my tractor not lower?

Beware, even with the engine stopped, the hydraulic fluid in the stand pipe could be pressurised. It is possible that the lift cylinder seizes in the ‘up’ position if the tractor has not been run for some time, rusting in place due to excess moisture in the oil and the transmission casing.

How to test a Massey Ferguson hydraulic lift?

The key to the diagnosis was testing the lift after removing the load from the top link – the mechanic had come across this once before with another make but never with a Massey Ferguson. It’s a simple 5 minute test that could save a lot of time and trouble investigating the pump and other parts of the system.
