Why is my driver side wing mirror loose?
I woke up this morning to find that my driver side wing mirror was hit (probably by a cyclist) and now it is loose from the body. The actual glass is fine, all the electrics still work just the wing mirror is loose from the door panel. Any ideas on how to tighten it back up? Thanks. I’m so Startled!! Like me…feed me likes!
Is it easy to remove a wing mirror?
The mirror covers are interchangeable on their own (the painted plastic bit, but not the black plastic part without additional work). Removing the wing mirror is easy and only takes a few mins (people have said to remove the door card but this is not necessary). 1).

Pull off the inside front cover, I used a flat screw driver and gently pulled it off. Unscrewed the old mirror off – but as said above, watch that it doesn’t fall into the door. The original screws that were used did not fit into the new one.

Mk4 is held on by 3 screws hiding under the triangular interior gusset on the door. Remove the 3 screws and it will fall off. Elec mirrors need the connector undoing of course.
