Why is my Dodge Grand not shifting at 40 mph?

The dealership said they reinitialised the control module. However, this did not make any difference in the issues. I drove the vehicle until this last Friday when while going down the highway in traffic doing about 30 mph the car and then 40 mph and noticed that the rpms just kept going up and the car was not shifting.
