Why is my car AC blowing outside air?
Why is my car AC blowing outside air?
A car A/C blowing hot air is often the result of a refrigerant leak. To definitively identify a refrigerant leak, one of our expert technicians needs to inject dye into the system to trace it. Once they identify the source of the leak, they repair and recharge your car A/C so it can blow fresh, cold air once again.
How does the AC work in a Ford Freestyle?
The AC not only cools the air but also retains a lot of moisture and provides breathing air through the dash vents. The heat comes through the lower pipes. The compressor will actually disengage if the CFC temperature reaches a certain low (not sure exactly how low).
When does Ford AC go into defrost mode?
If the plenum temperature is below 20 C and or if the air flow is restricted the evaporator core will freeze up. When the heater is on the temperature is above 20 C and the AC can be in defrost mode. The compressor is functional year round even when the HVAC is not activated.
Why does my air conditioner blow cold air while driving?
Similarly, if your AC condenser fan isn’t working, your air conditioning would blow cold until the condenser got heat soaked then it would stop working until you were up to cruising speed then the air blowing over the condenser while driving would cool it down and keep things working. Thanks again for your question!
How much is the climate control on a Ford Freestyle?
The $640 option is the Aux climate control, which is the one used for the rear passengers (my kids love it). Automatic dual-zone climate control on the front panel is standard on the Limited and SEL. If you don’t like it, why not just use the manual controls?

Why is cold air blowing out of my car?
If you are getting consistent cold air blowing out of the drivers side and the passengers side isn’t blowing out that same cold air, you may have a defective blend door actuator. If the system was low on refrigerant, you wouldn’t be getting consistent cold air blowing out what so ever.
