What kind of clutch does a Peugeot 307 have?

Just had a freind of mine ask me to do the job, he has a 307 CC 2.0ltr petrol, 06 plate with approx 50k on the clock. He says there is a whining noise coming from the clutch release bearing, how accurate this diagnosis is I don’t know, as I haven’t seen the car yet, but he’s normally right.
