Why does my Jeep start and then turn off?

When normally starting the Jeep, if you stop at turning the key to on, you should see the red Security Key light go out. Sometimes it is only one key. If both key react that way, it is most likely the module (separate from the remote lock/unlock module) which I believe is mounted to the steering column under the dash.

Can a motor start but wont turn off?

Yes it is and I double checked the connections as a precaution. It was also replaced but only as a cosmetic issue. The previous would not turn off issue wasnt caused by it as I actually had it hanging down and both pull the kill lanyard as a test and also removed a wire to insure that wasnt the problem

If it does not stop running, your feedback problem is coming from something other that the alternator.
