Why does my GMC Envoy remote not start?
I own a 2004 GMC Envoy . Not sure what happened but all of sudden my remote start will not start my rig. :confuse: It locks or unlocks my doors, so the batteries are not dead.

Dome lights don’t come on when door is opened. Dome light dash push button switch (to the right of headlight switch) is in the extended position. Dome lights will turn on manually if the push button switch (a.k.a. dash light dimmer) is twisted to extreme clockwise position, but in that mode they simply remain on even when door is closed.
How many miles does a GMC Envoy keyless remote last?
GMC paid for 5 of them, but are now refusing to pay for anymore, as they only warranty the original set for 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first. Has anyone had this problem with these latches? Does anyone know of an outside vendor besides GMC where a person can purchase these latches??

What to do if your dome light won’t turn off?
Click to expand… Normal bulbs. The dome light white wire is negative switched. Remove the dome and do continuity from the white wire to ground, disconnect the driver side door switch and see if that opens the circuit. If not continue on with the footwells then to the headlight switch till you get an open circuit.

What to do if your GMC Envoy has electrical problems?
If you have a dealer or after market security system or other device disconnect it and drive the car for a while or not and see if the problem goes away. One way is to pull the main CB for the system Most have one in line soemwher . If not find where it is powered and pull the connection or whatever it is and see what happens over a week!
