Why does my Chevy Silverado not go into 4WD?

Wire brushed it down and nothing changed. My 4wd would blink but not engage. It would engage into lower gear in 4lo but wouldn’t actually go into 4wd. Taking a closer look at the wires, I noticed that there is a small ground wire that was hidden in the tube that got unconnected. Simply put a new connector on it and works like a charm now!

– no real action to cause problem, just driving paved side street 4WD came on, switch lights went out and then noticed in 4WD by feel of the drive.
