Why does my case 450 go out of gear?

We got a 450 case dozer from an auction a few weeks ago and i got on it and did some things and noticed it sometimes just went randomly out of gear and had to wait a little for it to go back into gear. After a while of messing around on it and tightening the tracks and greasing up stuff i figured out its only going up an incline that it goes out.

How much oil does a case 450 case hold?

The hyd tank holds about 7.5 gal, the trans holds around 8 gal total of a case TCH spec fluid, a good 303 oil or a trans/converter/hyd oil that also meets the TCH spec. Do not put a straight hyd oil in the transmission.

What causes round NOB on case 450 to come off?

If while checking the oil level in the final drives and you have way to much oil, you could have a issue that needs attention, the same if the finals are low on oil you could have axle seal that needs attention.
