Why does my car not drive after a crash?

If it’s been in a crash and now won’t drive then it strikes me as unlikely that the lack of drive is due to the clutch failing. Thanks Dr G.

What to do when your car won’t go when you put it in gear?

Try setting the parking brake and putting blocks under the fronts of the wheels. Then, with the clutch pedal depressed, place the car in a high gear and slowly let out the clutch. Usually, the car will stall. But if the car continues to run even with the clutch released, the clutch plate is worn and needs to be replaced.

What kind of car goes into gear but doesnt drive?

We had a mates corsa that would go into gear with the clutch down and when you released the clutch it wouldnt move you could climb out the car and it would sit in gear on its own. Although its not a corsa, something to bear in mind. I would say some of the driveline is missing.

What does it mean when your car won’t move?

IT doesn’t feel like its fighting the brakes. It just doesn’t seem to be transferring any power at all. It doesn’t move or shimmy or anything. It just rev’s and doesn’t move. LIke it was stuck in neutral.

What kind of car starts but doesn’t drive?

A friend of mine has recently purchased an Audi A4 from a salvage yard. The car starts but doesn’t drive. Its a 2.0 TDI B8 model with a manual gearbox

Why does my car not start at 9 / 10?

This is because 9/10 a no start condition will be because of a bad battery, bad connections, or user error in diagnosing those both. I have started many friends cars that wouldn’t crank, or crank strongly, simply because I saw the battery terminals were loose.
