I have a 2008 Impala LTZ and when I open any front door I hear a clicking noise. Thought it was blend actuator but can’t be sure. Any thoughts out there? Sounds like an HVAC actuator… Is it coming from the dashboard area? Also, when the car is running, does changing any of the HVAC settings (air temp, mode, etc) cause the clicking to start?

Why is there a ticking noise coming from the dash?

The noise you are hearing is most likely the blend door actuator attempting to move to its default position but is not able to do so. This repair usually requires the blend door actuator to be replaced. This is often times a very costly repair as the dash sometimes needs to be removed from the vehicle in order to access the blend door actuator.

When your hearing this clicking open the fuse box and check the RAP fuse (AKA Relay). If sound is coming from that I would try replacing it if all the wiring is clean and test to be good.
