Anyhow, turns out my battery was fine, but when I reconnected it the driver’s side window would not go up or down, and the power locks would not work. Pressing either button on the key fob would flash the headlights, and you could hear a relay under the hood clicking, but nothing on the locks.

It’s also worth mentioning that I also had the ECM fail in my 2005 Colorado LS crew cab, which was causing that loss of power problem and it had to be replaced ($800), so GM is known to make sh–ty control modules. It is your truck and your nickel. Let us know how it works out.

Put in gear and you should hear the door locks activate again and your driver side window should work again. If that doesn’t do the trick, unplug the black harness again (with the ignition off), spray wd40 into any connection that has corrosion and blow connection clean with air.

The reason most guys try to find a “work around” is the high cost of a new switch module. The door lock and window circuits, on the driver’s side, share the same ground wire which terminates at the splice box on the left fender wall aft of the battery. Just for the record: The BCM doesn’t have anything to do with the operation of the windows.
