How do you remove the temp sensor from a Ford Escape?
Slide the cap up the wire and then disconnect the sensor from the connector by pushing in on the lower part of the connector and popping up – no tools needed. Use a deep 19 MM socket to remove the sensor. Make sure it fits over the replacement sensor for sizing.

The cabin temp sensor is located behind the blank switch plate (or switch, depending on model) by your right knee. There are openings just underneath the switch that you can feel with your fingers. This is where the air temp is sensed.
