How does vacuum advance work on Ford 460?

Initial plus mechanical. Vacuum advance is at part throttle to increase response and economy and does not count toward total timing as noted above. Watch the distance between the reluctor tooth and pick up to see if it changes as you apply vacuum to the dashpot. Check the coil resistance at rest and at full advance to see if it changes.
