What was the injector failure on my Ford C Max?
What was the injector failure on my Ford C Max?
Thanks. My 2008 Ford C Max 1.8TDCi was recovered by AA 12 months ago at 38K mileage, with Injector 4 failure. Local Ford workshop replaced Injector 3, and all four seals. Injector 4 failed again three weeks ago and was replaced by Renault workshop in France.
When does a Ford C Max TDCi malfunction?
There was no pattern to when the malfunction would occur, we’ve had it in slow moving traffic, from start up, after long distance driving, etc. but more often it would be in the summer months with warmer air temps, on the motorway, accelerating from 4th to 5th, on an incline.
What should I do if my Ford fuel injector fails?
Fuel Injector Inspection – You can take the injectors out of your Ford and inspect them for damage, dirt or rust. You can start by removing the fuel rails and detaching each injector from the rail. When you remove the injector, there will be fuel that spills out of the rail, so make sure you do not get it on you or the ground.
What was the code on my Ford C Max?
My 1.6 diesel C Max broke down yesterday – the AA diagnostic showed up code P1262 cylinder 2 side short. They could not help further and recovered it to my home. The car is now at the local dealership being diagnosed.
Is the Ford C Max TDCi injector faulty?
At no point have Ford customer care / Ford dealer / Ford workshop told us about the faulty injector batch, or suggested we have all four replaced at the same time, which would have made more sense financially, and mechanically for the engine running efficiency.
Do you need to change the injector seal on a Ford C Max diesel?
– diesel injectors are not a service item (unlike, say, spark plugs which are replaced at intervals) so the seal should not need attention and should not leak (if this is the diagnosed fault)
