What to do if your D8h Dozer water pressure gauge is not working?

What to do if your D8h Dozer water pressure gauge is not working?

If your D8 is not running hot in the engine after a days work without it spewing water out of the relief gauge, them go to the pub, have a beer and relax. Those water pressure gauges cause more bother than they are worth. I suggest you remove the gauge entirely and throw under the nearest track pad.

What does the oil pressure buzzer light mean?

An oil level indicator would be a much better measure of problems to come, of the better-pull-over-and-check-it-out-soon variety. But the oil pressure light means: “STOP, YOU HAVE NO PRESSURE, ENGINE FAILURE IS SECONDS AWAY.” Really, this is what it means. It is like your heart stopping in your chest.

How does the low oil pressure warning system work?

That is not the way this warning system works. Rather, the red light comes on when the oil PRESSURE drops too low as determined by an oil pressure switch installed on the engine. No VW van ever came from the factory with an oil pressure gauge or oil level indicator, just a low oil pressure warning light.

What causes the oil pressure light to flash?

If there is enough oil in the engine to fill the oil filter plus around half a quart, the oil pressure will come up and stay up. The first time you go around a curve and the oil sloshes to one side in the engine, the oil pump will suck air instead of oil, the pressure will drop, and the light will flash, sometimes without being noticed.

What should the pressure be on a D8N transmission?

380 at low idle is ok, pump may be worn some. 430 at high idle is ok, a little low. Pump wear would show more from cold to hot oil. Cold pressure is higher and hot will be lower. This is ok, but further testing is needed to determine where you have problems.

Why is my D8N transmission not moving at low idle?

Pump pressure is too low at low idle. This could be from a restriction in the filter or strainer. Make sure filter is new and does not have metal in it. Remove main strainer with magnets and see how much metal is on it. If these are clean, the pump is worn out and should be repaired or replaced. Low pump pressure would cause low priority pressure.

Where is the priority valve on a D8N?

Priority valve is in the supply manifold seen at the rear cover, all other settings are inside the transmission control valve. catmastertech and 87 other Heavy Equipment Specialists are ready to help you
