What to do about rough idle on a Falcon?
What to do about rough idle on a Falcon?
Check all of the plugs & replace, also same with ignition coils, rough idle is a common sympton of a coil pack going. They are cheap on the falcon though <40 bucks each for geniune, and normally replace them when you replace the plugs (as they are painful to remove in 1 piece) Thanks Nuard, this is the first time it’s happened.
What’s the idle rate on a Ford XR6?
I pulled the battery out of my XR6 a couple of weeks ago to jump stat a car. Since then she is running rich (from 750km/tank down to 500) and when pulling up to the lights after slipping it in neutral runs rough with idle fluctuating from 250-1000rpm.
Is it normal for a Ford XR8 to misfire?
Many thanks for that tip about the flooding. It doesnt do it every time, like its fine for 5 days then if say leave it over the weekend, start Monday morning, sure enough it cranks hard, then misfire, runs like a hairy goat on 4 cylinders for about 20 minutes. Turn it off then start up and its fine for the next 5 days.
What kind of engine does a Ford XR8 have?
Gotta Love Manual V8!! My XR8 spat, stuttered and carried on, very similar to what you are describing. This was all fixed with new irridium spark plugs, new leads and new fuel filter. Well, the battery is actually pretty flat.

How much power does a Ford Falcon XR8 have?
Power is produced by a double overhead camshaft, 5.4 litre naturally aspirated 8 cylinder motor, with 4 valves per cylinder that develops power and torque figures of 349 bhp (354 PS/260 kW) at 5250 rpm and 500 N·m (369 lb·ft/51 kgm) at 4000 rpm respectively. Power is supplied to the wheels through a 6 speed manual gearbox.
Why does my 99 AU have a rough idle?
My 99 AU that I only bought on Monday has a slightly rough idle, and in top gear, when I just touch the accelerator, it has a definate hesitation/stutter before it accelerates. I’m guessing it could be leads, so I’ve bought a set, and will fit them this weekend, but was wondering if I’m heading down the right track. I love this site by the way.
Which is better a BF Falcon or a 91?
I drive a BF Falcon.I always run it on 98 now . It runs smoother and has better acceleration than 91.It may cost a little more per km but this car owes me nothing. Bought it cheaply a few years ago.
