What makes a car start and then die?
To start a vehicle, the electrical system, composed of the battery and starter, turns the engine over. Once running, the engine requires a constant flow of gasoline and good spark to keep that fuel igniting. If gasoline is not readily available, or if there is not enough spark, the engine will quit.
Are there any problems with starting after fueling?
Also there have been times accelerating uphill, the engins would make a little pfft pfft sound and act like it wasn’t getting enough fuel…I have replaced all air filters. Any ideas? I’m getting tired of paying my mechanic…Everyone is stumped.
What do you do when your motor dies?
Motor started fine, idled fine, but when I gave it some gas it wanted to die. If I backed off the throttle it would run. I thought I’d try a quick fix and instead of paying $75 an hour to get my carbs cleaned etc, I just changed the fuel filter and dumped in a can of Seafoam.
Why does my traverse not start after fueling?
I just changed the evap/solenoid and it’s still having trouble starting. It was running okay besides the motor vibrating, then I stopped and got gas, drove it about 10 miles cut it off, started it back up, turned over for about 5 seconds then shut off and wont start now. Why does my car not start when I crank the engine?
If the engine doesn’t crank, or makes an unusual noise when cranking, you may have a starting system problem. The car’s security system may have made an error that disabled the fuel or ignition system, or the chip in the key may have failed.
