There is also a close time that you do not hear about very often (CT). Some engine managment systems require you to enter this time and refer to it as injector lag, latency, delay or other terms.

Remove the pump fuel lines and the mounting bolts, Then go into the front of the timing cover and remove the nut on the pump shaft, , use small puller to push the pump shaft from the gear, do not let gear move. Ok so ill do that and remove it and check for sheared key then you reccomend getting it rebuilt?

Is there only one wire to the injection pump?

There is only one wire that goes to the injection pump it has voltage when the key is turned it is the fuel cutoff I believe but thtat is the only wire is it because it’s old ER and you still reccomend messing with the timing on pump correct?
