No offense. These arn’t your ma and pa kinda cars anymore, they are complicated. The lighting on the ST, regardless of trim level is controlled by the BCM (body control module). The BCM uses what is referred to as FET (field affect transistor) to prevent damage to the module while controlling a 12 volt function.

I’ve got a 2006 Ford Focus and the drivers side dipped beam has stopped working. I’ve changed the bulb and the fuse but still no luck. I was thinking it could be the relay but if it was would that not affect both sides?

Try the bulb & relay from the passenger side headlight & if the headlight still does not work then it could be the wiring. Or worse case senario you buy a drivers headlight.
