What does it mean when the battery gauge goes down?

Now you know though what it means when your battery gauge jumps up and down. You know that it doesn’t mean that the battery is bad, but instead normally means that you have an issue with the alternator. You also know to check the alternator belt and replace if worn or make sure it is tightened correctly.

How do you fix a battery gauge?

What causes the voltage gauge to drop to zero?

Double check the plug to your altinator and the one hot wire going to it. Had the same problem a while back, except for the lights flickering. Would like to say I have an answer for you but I don’t becasue my problem went away soon after. It happened though when I was driving one time in an extreme down pour.
