My wife just called to tell me she had gotten an “Engine hot, AC off” message when she was leaving the subdivision in our 2007 SS. She said she also got another message, approximately “engine powered down”. No codes yet, but I’ll get some when I get home tonight.

A/c off and engine temperature gauge is a problem I have on my h3 hummer 2008 as well. I changed my coolant temperature sensor too but that didn’t work. I accidentally found out that when I play with the hvac knob the a.C light Engine temp. Gauge acts crazy causing my a.C to turn off.

I had the same problem and replaced the engine temperature sensor but that didn’t fix the problem. I had GM replace the thermostat and that fixed the problem.
