Can a bad MAF sensor cause loss of power?
A bad MAF sensor might produce a sudden reduction in car power, but the normal failure mode is a gradual loss of power over weeks. Your engine light may come on if the sensor only has intermittent failure. If power is restored by shutting the car off and turning it back on, you are in limp mode.
What causes a car to lose power after 70K miles?
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor. A bad or going-bad MAF can cause the loss of power. These are usually good to 70K miles. A bad MAF sensor might produce a sudden reduction in car power, but the normal failure mode is a gradual loss of power over weeks.

Why do I lose power at 1500 rpm?
This gives lack of power around 2000 rpm upwards, took 40 hours to find that one and 10 hours to fit parts. Lastly some v10’s have problems with a gear in the back of the engine which wears out giving low oil pressure to hydrualic lifters. If this problem is present the car seems to missfire at 1500 rpm and there is a rattling noise from engine.

What was the problem with my 2002 Ford F-150?
I had the same problem with my 2002 F-150. Turns out it was a loose sparkplug. Plug finally BLEW off the cyclinder head, took the coil pack out with it. (second time it has happened to me on THIS cyclnder) Changed both plug and Coil pack…
What causes a Ford F-150 transmission to slip?
The transmission value body has these very small ball bearings made of plastic which direct the flow of the transmission fluid. From what I have researched, they become smaller with wear causing the fluid to pass and slip the transmission.
What makes an F-150 engine lose power?
An engine needs four things in order to make power: air, the proper amount of fuel, compression, and a means of igniting the compressed fuel/air mixture. Any F-150 or F-250 that has lost power is deficient in one of those four things.
What causes a loss of power in an engine?
A weak or failed ignition coil is another potential source of a loss of engine power. Ford Modular engines are well known to have issues with the coil on plug systems. Coils get weak with age and misfire under load.
What is the error code on a Ford F-150?
With the scanner it showed errors P0755, P1747 and P0743, I was told it might be the gas pump, but the failure continues. It’s a 2008 mexican Ford truck, 8 cilinders and 4.6L engine with automatic transmission. The error code P1747 ir related to the transmission: pressure in the control solenoid, and most likely the other error codes are related.
Why is my Ford truck losing power under load?
Ford Modular engines are well known to have issues with the coil on plug systems. Coils get weak with age and misfire under load. This is often misdiagnosed as torque converter shudder. It is easiest to detect under load at about 45-50 MPH with the torque converter locked.
Why does my Ford truck have a sluggish feel?
Air filters play a crucial part in how your car performs and are directly related to gas mileage and torque. These components are subject to wear and can often get dirty. When they get really dirty, they get clogged, thus preventing the air to flow easily into the engine, which results in a sluggish feel.
Are there any problems with the Ford 7.3 power stroke engine?
