I’m wondering though if the 92 isn’t like my 96. The gauges aren’t true gauges, they are dummy lights with a pointing stick. What should the coolant temp gauge be on a 2000 Ford truck?
Mine is a 2000 but should be about the same, usually runs below the middle of the gauge but in the norm range. My truck has the same problem, never reads higher then the lowest line unless going up a long hill then it just passes. did you find a solution?
Is there a coolant temp sensor on the 7.3?
The 2 problems have to be related some how. Click to expand… 7.3 doesn’t have a coolant temp sensor that the PCM can see. The sensor just is hard wired to the gauge in the dash. I’m pretty sure the PCM uses a mix of the intake temp sensor and the EOT sensor.
