It might also flash on when you shuttle. It should not really be on at all when running an could be a sign of a weak pump or leaking clutch packs. Before you worry too much I would change the transmission oil (or at least as much as you can), change the filter and possibly pull off the sump to check the strainer.

What causes erratic tack reading on JCB 214?
I have very little knowledge with JCB but some machines take the tack reading from the alternator. Erratic tack needed can be caused by a bad alternator or bad connections. If your alternator is bad your battery voltage may be low. You should be getting 14 to 14.8 volts at the battery terminals when engine is at idle.
When does the TCS warning light come on?
