Case IH 5140 shuttle problems A neighbour has a 5140 which has been giving shuttle issues of late, after a period of work when the tractor gets warm it loses drive. Once it loses drive the tractor will not move forward or back, no transmission errorcodes flash or shift abort when it happens informing of any problem.

You could try removing the valve assembly, stripping & polishing the spool, there are several spools in the valve block plus springs etc so extreme care needs to be taken.
