I love my car but 2 throttle body in 1 year at 500 a pop just for the part, thank god I have mechanics in my family to do the work for almost free otherwise I’d be out thousands of dollars. If Ford knows this is a problem why in the hell isn’t there a recall? I’ve been reading a lot of complaints about this same problem.

Friday, November 13, 2015 I have lost all power. Thankfully I was in town and my very kind, generous neighbor boosted me three times to limp into a mechanic. The fix an alternator $500. That’s OK and good. My question is do I spend that money to be told that the most severe problem might cost me $1,000.

I can fix the ford 500 at 4 days of replacing parts and research I added throttle body and sensor, gas pedal, map sensor, fuel rail sensor, plugs, intake gasket, egr, removed the entire exhaust system and removed the inside of the converter in front of the muffler and made sure exhaust was totally clear, new fuel filter, new fuel pump.

How do you relearn throttle on a Ford?
1) Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 2) Run a jumper wire from the positive battery cable to the now disconnected negative battery cable terminal. NOTE. Do this with the negative cable DISCONNECTED from the battery. The short circuit you’re creating here is designed to drain all power from the capacitors inside the PCM.

This most recent experience resulted in heart spasms from fear. I had to take a nitroglycerin tablet… I do not want to have a heart attack because my 2005 FORD 500 has a rotten throttle problem. Other Ford models have had a recall issued due to similar problems.
