Housing Agreement Housing agreements are legally binding and require an advance rent payment. The housing agreement guarantees a student a room in a residence hall on campus. The agreement does not guarantee a specific room type, rental rate, location, or roommate.

Can you cancel UF housing agreement?

You must submit a cancellation request online through HMS. Visit https://hms.housing.ufl.edu/, login, and select the Cancel Contract link. Please clearly indicate your reason for canceling your housing contract. You will receive a response to your request within 2 business days of submission.

Is a forbearance bad?

Even if you qualify for forbearance, you won’t automatically be granted that protection. You must apply for it, and stopping payments before you’ve officially been granted forbearance on your loan may make you delinquent on your mortgage and have a serious negative impact on your credit score.

When do I have to pay my rent at UF?

Rent payments are always due on the first of the month. Rent that is not paid by the 10th of the month will be assessed a late fee. Online payments will not post for several days. To ensure your rent payment posts the same day you will need to pay by check or cash at the University Housing office before 3:30PM.
