Is the injector on the 2-5 cylinder below normal?

Is the injector on the 2-5 cylinder below normal?

2-5 Cylinder #2 Injector : Current Below Normal The ECM detects current below normal. The code is logged. If equipped, the warning light will illuminate. The ECM will continue to attempt to operate the injector after the code has been logged. The engine may misfire.

What happens when an injector is cut out in a car?

Use the “Cylinder Cutout Test” to diagnose a malfunctioning injector while the engine is running. When a good injector is cut out, the “Fuel Position” should change. The change in the fuel position is caused by the other injectors that are compensating for the cut out injector.

Why does my car engine not want to start?

If the engine still doesn’t seem like it wants to start, probably fuel is getting into the cylinders and your problems lies somewhere else. However, if the engine runs momentarily and dies, then the problem is that fuel is not getting to the cylinders. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or a bad fuel pressure regulator.

When does an injector solenoid test go bad?

The engine may experience low power. Perform this procedure under conditions that are identical to the conditions that exist when the fault occurs. Typically, faults with the injector solenoid occur when the engine is warmed up and/or when the engine is under vibration (heavy loads).

2-5 Cylinder #2 Injector : Current Below Normal The ECM detects current below normal. The code is logged. If equipped, the warning light will illuminate. The ECM will continue to attempt to operate the injector after the code has been logged. The engine may misfire.

How do you know when to replace a fuel injector?

Another effective test is to measure the pressure loss in the fuel rail when each injector is fired and pulses for a set period of time. Use an electronic injector pulse tester for this. As each injector is energized, a fuel pressure gauge is observed to monitor the drop in fuel pressure.

What causes fuel injector to leak and cause hard starting?

Leaking fuel injector can be cause of hard starting. This is because the fuel rail pressure has dropped and fuel has leaked into the manifold and causes the spark plugs to become flooded. Both top feed and side fuel injectors make use of O-rings to seal between the fuel injector and fuel rail.

Can a fuel injector flow at the same rate?

That almost makes sense, but fuel injectors are either low or high resistance and they should all flow at the same rate otherwise you’d have different cylinder combustions. 370cc 550cc 750cc whatever the flow might be, it is all the same across all 6 or 8 cylinders for each injector.
