Why is my GMC Sierra 1500 stalling and dying?
There is no code given. Have changed the injectors, timing, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel pump, map sensor, cooling temp sensor on front of block, rebuilt the tbi, air idea valve. None of this hasite helped. The truck starts and dies. Have to give a little gas to keep running. While driving have to 2 foot it so it won’t die.
What to do when your GMC Sierra stops running?
If you have fuel pressure after the above tests pull a spark plug and check for spark. If you don’t have spark check the cam position sensor in the distributor. If you have spark with no pressure it is the pump.

August 2007, Brought truck into dealership and they figured it was a weak fuel pump and was replaced, September 2007 stalling of engine continued. NOV. 2007 dealership replaced ignition harness, and stalling continued. Dec. 2007 I replaced the battery and did a thourough cleaning of the battery terminals.
Why does my GMC Sierra stall at 30 mph?
Never threw a service engine light or a code and would readily re start. 2 weeks ago it quit at 30 mph, wouldn’t restart and SES lit up. Code indicated crank positioning sensor. Had it replaced and so far so good. If yours behaves as mine did it could be a while before you get a traceable code. I own a 1998 GM Sierra 5.7L 2wd automatic.
What should I do if my Silverado engine dies?
Update as of today: 1) the truck hasn’t started and kept running since last week. It only starts right up, then dies immediately. 2) I got a fuel pressure tester and the pressure is at 53 with key on, and maintains pressure when it starts (then dies).
