The “O” ring suffers from poor molds. Flashing and un-round cross section plagues this seal. The rating of two stars is for the snap/retaining ring, that was ok. If it weren’t for the retaining ring I would have rated this with no stars and returned the product. As it stands I’ll be replacing these “O” rings with factory rings before winter.

You need two kits to do both sides. I love that it came with all the hardware and o rings needed to replace the seals on the locking hub on my 2001 F-250 Super Duty. Please note this only has parts for the locking 4WD vacuum hub itself, you need seperate axle seals and o-rings for the hub assembly/axle.

Do you leave locking hubs disconnected when off road?
An often overlooked draw back is that hubs stick out and can get damaged when off-road. Hub components are usually cast aluminum that break easily. A broken hub could leave you stranded in the back country. So, what should you do? I would recommend that you leave your locking hubs disconnected when there is no need for 4WD in sight.
