Apparently, there are problems with this very issue on the Ford Fusions as well. Shared parts on multiple vehicles. Hopefully a permanent fix is not too far down the road! Hmmm, yes. I didn’t really use or know of it until spring in 2015, so I never really tested it fully this past winter. I held my hand on the door handle, a few fingers.

I’ll update after, Appointment is Monday. So yesterday, my Driver side door handle sensors for lock and unlock stopped working. I could walk around to the passenger side and they worked just fine. Later on, they worked 50% of the time you tried. This morning the same 50% of the time.
What to do when your side door latch stops working?
You will need a bolt,screwdriver or something to pull the latch open when you manually close it (it should spring back open but if it doesnt pull the handle put the bolt in the latch and pull towards the opening). Do that several times and see if that works.

Hi there…wow, this is scary….my 2015 Escape Titanium is at the dealership right now for the exact same issue! It started a few of weeks ago and was an intermittent problem, especially if it was raining or now that the temperature has dropped and we’ve got snow. A smaller version of GM’s rebirth of the Hummer. Hard to start yesterday,drivers side window,power door locks wont work,either by buttons on both doors or on key fob.Other windows work! Where is the fuse box located on a Ford Fusion?
Release the two latches, located on both sides of the fuse box. Raise the inboard side of the fuse box from the cradle. Move the fuse box toward the center of the engine compartment. Pivot the outboard side of the fuse box to access the bottom side. Transmission oil pump.
Why does my driver side door lock not work?
The windows and the locks are on two separate circuits. The only part that these two have in common is the master switch. Of course it is also possible that the wiring harness between the driver side door and cowl is corroded and that some of the pins are to corroded or even broken off and do not make contact.
