The main center bulb of the dome light does work, however (when opening the doors, etc.) I’ve checked the fuses and have yet to find a blown one. Fuse 601 is a 30amp and I’m not too sure how to check if it’s gone bad. I know that this is the fuse for the delay and power windows.
How can I tell if my dome lamp is working?
Check a few of these other systems to see if they operate or if it’s isolated to the radio and dome lamps. The ignition feed will be to power an illuminated “halo”, but for nothing else. The wiring color shows to be pink from the #12 fuse on (to the load circuits).

Why do I have no power to my door switches?
Pull back the moulding to reveal the wires, carefully inspect for any breaks. Almost all of the volkswagens run the wires to the switches and then out to the other doors. Why is the gauge cluster on the dash?
Pulled the dash, unscrewed the cluster, left the two giant harnesses plugged in, unhooked the gear position needle and flipped that cluster up on the dash to have at it….bad move. My theories; either i broke a foil on the pcb by applying tension to the harnesses i left plugged in, or the burnt out bulbs were burntout for a reason.
What to do if there is no power window?
Check the power window circuit breaker for voltage, key on. That circuit breaker is in fuse box, under right side of dash. Use a testlite to check for voltage. Test the terminals with the key on. If no voltage, you’ll have to check out the ignition switch.
