Is the Active Fuel Management on a 2007 Avalanche?

I have a 2007 Avalanche that I purchased new. It now has 209,000 miles on it. I’m sure that some of you know that the Active Fuel Management can be a real problem on these engines. I’m a dedicated oil changer on my engines and I never had a problem until the truck reached 200,000 miles.

Can a non AFM engine make a lifter tick noise?

It DOES NOT apply to Non-AFM Engines. If you are dealing with a Non-AFM engine that is experiencing a similar noise, please refer to Engine Mechanical > Diagnostic Information and Procedures > Symptoms in SI. Where is the AFM on a GM LS lifter?

To control contamination a small replaceable oil filter is located in the VLOM inlet oil passageway. The AFM oil pressure relief valve regulates the oil supplied to the VLOM and is located in the oil pan near the oil filter housing. The AFM system has an operating range from 27 PSI to 66 PSI of oil pressure.
