As long as you get the alignment, you should be fine. Your ride quality will be a little diminished, due to a stiffer front end. It’s up to you, let us know how it goes.

Can you raise a Chevy truck with torsion keys?

From what I understand, the leveling kit I’m considering will raise my front up to 2.5″ with torsion key kits and the rear either 1.5″ or 1” using coil spring spacers. Does anyone have any experience with a system like this? How does it affect the ride, handling etc.?

Follow the torsion bar from the front axle to the center transmission crossmember. You will see the torsion bar key in the opening of the crossmember, which is held in place by an adjusting bolt and adjusting block. Use a breaker bar and socket to remove the adjusting bolt.

How can I adjust my Silverado torsion keys?

After adjustment, I got the front left to 40 7/8, the front right to 40 3/4, the left rear went to 42 3/4 and right rear down to 42. I drove it around the block and then tweaked the keys just enough to get both fronts to 40 7/8, the right rear stayed at 42 and the left rear dropped 42 5/8.

Here’s a pic showing the new key over the old key with the hex holes lined up, you can see the adjusting bolt contact surface is much lower, so to locate them in position in the crossmember you are going to have to put a lot more “twist” on the torsion bar Ok. Anyone remember the stock height before the lift?
