Is core support and radiator support the same thing?
Is core support and radiator support the same thing?
REALITY: Composite radiator core supports are a structural component. The substrate or attachment method used does not make a difference; a radiator core support is structural.
What does a radiator core support do?
Installing a new radiator support is one way of maintaining it in top shape. It keeps the radiator near your engine, which ensures that the coolant is pumped thoroughly in the engine, but far enough to protect it from the extreme heat produced by the engine’s operations.
What do you need to know about radiator support?
The distance is measured from tank to core raised ribs; once you receive the core support, check it for proper radiator bracket support spacing. Late ’76-’82 core supports use clips to retain the shroud at the bottom, while earlier cars have brackets and nuts.
Where do you measure the core of a radiator?
Radiator Core Hieght: This measurement is always between the headers. It does not matter if the radiator tanks are side-by-side or top to bottom. Radiator Core Width: This measurement is taken across the face of the core, between the side support rails. Do Not include the thickness of the side rails, only the fin core surface itself.
Do you need a Goodmark radiator core support?

Keep your radiator mounted securely with OEM-style supports from Goodmark. Select your preferred location and we’ll note which parts are ready to be picked up TODAY.
Can a radiator be installed without core support?
Forced air takes the path of least resistance and if the radiator isn’t sealed to the support, the much needed air flows around the radiator, not through it. Along with the core support, plan on installing correct seals. Watch carefully when ordering because there are many variations of seals used.

Which is better a 3 core or a 4 core radiator?
Sorry I didn’t chime in sooner, you will not regret the 4 row! Be aware that if 3 core is good, then 4 core is not necessarily better. The reason I say that is due to the airflow running more slowly due to added restriction of the added row.
