A spacer will never improve the ride, and it generally will not change the spring rate.

What kind of coil springs do I need for a Dodge truck?
Note; lift height varies between 4.0″ on single cab 12V trucks to 3.0″ on extra cab 24V trucks. Due to the additional weight of megacab truck configurations, we recommend all gas megacab trucks use Heavy Duty (HD) front coil springs instead of Light Duty (LD) front coil springs.
