Sanwa joysticks (and Japanese joysticks in general) are smaller than American joysticks which means they require less wrist-work to get them to respond. Other joysticks snap back too quickly, leading to an input in the opposite direction if you simply let it go. Sanwa buttons are extremely responsive.

What is the difference between Happ and Sanwa?

The differences are noticeable in both look and feel. Happ’s American-style controllers typically featured bat-shaped tops and tight-action joysticks. Its buttons are typically concave and require a strong push to reach the click phase. Sanwa, though, tends to use ball-shaped tops and looser action for its joysticks.
