I’m trying to get my spanners and sockets together to work on the bike (why didn’t they put metric on the europeans:sad?), but I can’t figure out which size socket I”m gonna need to get the pad pin out of the rear brake caliper to change the brake pads.
How big are the bolts for front brakes?
Used a 12 point 16mm socket for the front bracket bolts, and a T… 50 (i think) torx for the front caliper pins. Going to need to get some new hardware next time. Gonna see if there are “normal” aftermarket replacements.

Where to find socket for brake pad pins?
I can’t seem to find a socket for my 2004 ultra classic’s brake pad pins. I was told that it takes a 1/4″ 12 pt. socket, but the socket wall is too thick to fit over bolt. ( not enough space between bolt and caliper ) Is it a 12pt 1/4″ bolt or does it take a special wrench? If it is 1/4″ where can I find a thin wall socket? Thanks !

What kind of bolts are on a Silverado brake caliper?
I just did the brakes on my 05′ Silverado, and the caliper bolts were a T55 Torx head bolt. Just a little FYI if you don’t want to reuse those rusty Torx head bolts, go to the auto parts store and buy a new set of bolts.

Tighten the front caliper bolts to approximately 25 ft/lbs, and the rear caliper bolts to 15 ft/lbs. If a new brake caliper was installed, attach the brake hose to the caliper.
