The Toyota housings aren’t exactly beefier than the Samurai housings either. I have an empty rear Toyota housing in my shop and it is pretty lightweight, definitely in the same league of the Samurai housing. The Toyota axles shaft are about 50% larger than the Samurai shafts though.
