Does a TH350 have a TV cable?

Does a TH350 have a TV cable?

A TH350 has a kickdown cable. On a transmission, you cannot run with it disconnected. A TV cable combines the functions of the vacuum modulator and the kickdown cable.

Does a TH350 use a kickdown cable?

On the 3-speeds (TH350, TH400, etc.), the “kickdown” is indeed just that. When actuated, the transmission shifts down into 2nd gear. That is all, and as such, is NOT required unless you want that functionality.

How do I install kickdown cable?

Method 1 of 1: Replacing the kickdown cable

  1. Materials Needed.
  2. Step 1: Jack up the front of the vehicle and set the jack stands.
  3. Step 2: Place wheel chocks on the rear wheels.
  4. Step 3: Disconnect the kickdown cable at the carburetor or throttle body.
  5. Step 4: Remove the kickdown cable from the mounting bracket.

What’s the difference between TH350 and 700 R4 TV cable?

Push the end of the TV cable through the hole in the mounting bracket. To prevent the end of the cable from ever becoming dislodged, secure the end in the bracket with a tie-wrap to keep the tabs permanently open. The 700-R4 TV cable (bottom) has a larger diameter than that of the TH350.

Where are the transmission bolts on a 68 Camaro?

Using a pry bar, rotate the flywheel to access the bolts. The 3⁄8-inch bolts that secure this (’68 Camaro) transmission crossmember are accessed by holes in the sub-frame. Remove them now. Early cars, like this one, used a two-bolt ( 3⁄8 x 16 thread x 1.25-in) transmission mounting pad.

Do you need nut and bolt for TH350 transmission?

Some converters also require nut and bolt. Re-attach all the lines, shifter cable, and speedometer cable (the one for TH350 and 700-R4 are identical) before you bolt the transmission to the engine. Since line-pressure control is built into the 700-R4 transmission, there’s no need for a ground or a hot lead.

How is the shift arm attached to a TH350 transmission?

Put another jack under the engine oil pan to keep rearward tilt at a minimum once the transmission support has been removed. Remove the shift arm from the TH350 transmission. Early ones (1981-earlier) are secured with a 3⁄8-inch nut. Shift arm attachment on later production units used a metric 10mm X 1.5 thread nut.
