Do you need to replace fuel pump in 2005 Chevy Colorado?
I have never needed to replace a fuel pump in a 2005 Colorado, but if the lock ring is anything like a Chevy Blazer tank, between my daughter and I we have replaced 8 Blazer pumps in multiple vehicles over the years. The last one was just last week on a 1998 model. I looked on Rock Auto and the fuel pump assembly looks identical to a Blazer.

Since I’m assuming the electric pump resides inside the tank. It is easier to take the bed off of the truck than it is to lower the tank. The bed is only held on by a few bolts. Replaced 2 fuel pumps on my previous chevy silverado, and after the first time lowering the tank, a local mechanic gave me the tip.

Just in case… Usually it’s in line before the fuel line goes to the fuel rail. A lot of companies have it set up where the guage is connected by a tube that measures the pressure without having fuel come into the cab. I’m sure it’s got to do with safety, obviously.
