LS main cap and connecting rod bolts are not torque-to-yield (TTY) but do use the torque angle (TA) specification. The spec is similar to TTY but the bolts are reusable. A wise alternative for high output engines is a set of ARP rod bolts and main studs that use traditional torque specs.
Can I reuse connecting rod nuts?
It’s OK to re-use rod bolts and nuts. I always fit the nuts back onto their original bolts. ARP recommend you tighten/release the nuts a few times with their moly lubricant to seat the threads together. If you put a nut back on the same bolt,it’s already seated.
