Why is the battery on my Chevy Equinox dead?

Went to start it this morning and it was dead again. Jumped it and it the security alarm and radio came on immediately when the cables were put on the other car. It’s back at the mechanic’s now, but he is stumped. Any ideas? 1 people found this helpful.

Hhmm any kind of heater circut uses quite a bit of juice, if you only drive 10-15 miles a day total the re-charge perhaps is questionable, not sure. Could the flicker on console area be because of low light levels at this time of year causing DRL’s going into nightime (regular headlights and dimmer cabin lights) mode?

How to test parasitic drain on Chevy Equinox?

Before doing a parasitic drain test keep the door closed for 10 minutes or so to let the ECM go back to “sleep,” (if you expect to be pulling interior fuses between tests pull the fuse for the door). Otherwise you’ll get a higher draw reading than normal.
