Hello, I have a same problem on my 2002 Ml500, the fuel light starts blinking but I definately have a full tank and I chagned the fuel cap. Everytime I turned on the engine and run for 10 to 15 miles, then fuel light starts Blinking. I turned the enginee off the fuel Blinking gone. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks.
What causes fuel gauge to flash when fuse is blown?
A float that is connected to a Varistor (Variable Resistor), the resistance tells the ECU the fuel level. While searching around I found info that fuse #10 (marked as “Meter”) is the one that can cause this if blown. Someone even reported that changing the fuse solved the problem. That info might be incorrect of course.

It must be the LPG switch. Basically it switches the fuel feed from petrol to LPG, and your LPG tank must have been empty. Where did you buy the car from ?
