Why is my GMC Sierra 1500 in 3rd gear?

Pulled the harness off the tranny to put it into LIMP mode and it starts out in 3rd gear no problem. So 3rd gear is there.. Shift solenoids A and B have to be good else no 1st or 2nd. No errors codes.
