Why does the motor not shut off with the key?
Changed ignition switch ( a 6 prong ). Still the same issue. Looking at the motor while shutting off the switch, the levers seem to respond. Any ideas are welcome.
Can a motor start but wont turn off?
Yes it is and I double checked the connections as a precaution. It was also replaced but only as a cosmetic issue. The previous would not turn off issue wasnt caused by it as I actually had it hanging down and both pull the kill lanyard as a test and also removed a wire to insure that wasnt the problem

So just got back to the dock and low and behold my motor wouldn’t shut off with either the key or kill switch I realize Yamaha’s like to run but this is a little more running than I need. I had to pull the last fuse on the bottom of the motor (I believe the ignition coil) to shut it down.

ENGINE WILL NOT TURN OVER WITH THE KEY SWITCH NO POWER AT THE STARTER. Many things could cause this issue from blown fuse to bad ignition switch, bad vehicle ecu or engine ecu. You need to check all fuses- ones under center dash panel and inside left side kick panel. Check voltage at starter relay w/key in start position, should be 12+ volts.

Why does my Jeep start and then turn off?
When normally starting the Jeep, if you stop at turning the key to on, you should see the red Security Key light go out. Sometimes it is only one key. If both key react that way, it is most likely the module (separate from the remote lock/unlock module) which I believe is mounted to the steering column under the dash.
