Why does the gas fill nozzle keep clicking off?

Discussion in ‘ Exterior ‘ started by TheKid7, Jul 27, 2019 . Starting about a week ago when I try to do a routine fuel tank fill, the gas fill nozzle keeps clicking to off after very short fill intervals. This has been happening on three tank fills (I drive a lot.).

Why is the vent valve stuck in the closed position?

The most common cause is the vent valve solenoid is stuck in the “closed” position. This is the solenoid behind the gas tank (see diagrams) with the wires attached. Get only a factory brand Delco, nothing else.
