Why does my BF Falcon RTV not start?
It’s pretty much usually the converter on BF’s factory gas. Another way of starting them is leaving your foot to the floor on the accelerator and leave it cranking for 20-30 seconds. You can get a change over converter for a few hundred bucks. Hummer writes… Good advice for other people but mine’s not a factory Vialle. It’s an OMVL peel cp30 😉
What should the stepper motor count be at idle?
The stepper motor count should be about 150 to 175 at idle if all conditions are OK. If the engine is running lean, the 0 sensor 2 will be showing lean around 0.1 V and the stepper motor count will be lower than 150 steps. Now check the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve that can often be damaged by an engine backfire.
What causes a stepper motor to stall out?
If the engine stalls it is most likely to be a balance line problem. The balance line must be completely sealed as the incoming ram air is required to draw the correct amount of LPG through the idle circuit. Note: Stepper motor count- the higher the number, the richer the mixture. The lower the number the leaner the mixture.
What’s the best way to troubleshoot a Ford BF?
My next step I think is to bridge the ignition terminal on the solenoid to the positive terminal on the starter motor and see if it cranks – am I right in thinking that if that provides power and cranks the engine that the issue in the ignition line somewhere? If so, how would the best way to attack this be?

Is there an issue with the starter on a Ford BF?
Yes; If that works you have a voltage drop or relay issue. Would also confirm the connection on the starter is ok and so is the earth from the engine back to the battery dan4ll writes… am I right in thinking that if that provides power and cranks the engine that the issue in the ignition line somewhere?
