Why does my 1989 Ford F 250 not start?

I just had an 1989 F-250 given to me by my boss. When I got it, it didnt start. I had to jump it to get it to turn over but it just cranked (no start). It has a new IIAC valve. I replaced the ignition module on the distributor and it started right up.
